Camper Van Conversion Questions & Answers

Answers to common campervan conversion questions

We recently expanded to cut our lead time in half! The design and your decision process (layout, colors, components, accessories, etc.) usually takes about 1 month. Most installations are completed within 6-8 weeks, depending upon the conversion. We work with you to be as flexible as possible, but fill our schedule on a first-come basis.

Once we are in agreement on your conversion scope and cost, we ask for a down payment to order your parts, prepare and pre-assemble them, and hold a spot on our conversion schedule. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your completed conversion.

Installation time depends upon your particular vehicle and the work involved to convert it. Typically, it takes us 4-6 days to install a Small Camper Van Conversion. High Roof Camper Van Conversions or Custom Builds can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Total time from your down payment commitment to camper van completion is about 2-4 months.

Not to worry. We have several ways for customers to work with us, even from great distances:

  1. Purchase the van from our sister company, Campervan Services. Contravans will convert it.
  2. Purchase locally and drive your vehicle to us.
  3. Purchase locally and have your dealership (or a logistics company) send the vehicle to us on a car carrier. This will save you a trip and mileage on your van. You can fly in to pick it up when it’s complete OR have a logistics company deliver it to you.
  4. Purchase new from any dealership here in Denver. They will drive the van over to us for conversion.

Each van manufacturer, model, and size has pros and cons. Ultimately, the choice is up to you. However, we can help you decide based upon your needs and primary use of the van. Check out some of our blogs for more van-specific information. Our recommendation is that you plan for how you will use the van at least 80% of the time. We also highly recommend test driving several models to pick the one that you like to drive the best. After all, this is a vehicle. Driver ergonomics and ride comfort are two of the most important features that will ensure you will love your campervan conversion for years to come.

Small camper vans get great gas mileage, fit in your garage, are less conspicuous on city streets, are easy to park, and are budget-friendly. While you can’t put all of the same build features in a small van as a large van, you can still experience the same amount of adventure.

Not just yet, but we’re working on it! Look for new and exciting DIY parts for sale in 2024! If you’re in the Denver area, most of our products are available to order and pick up at any time.

Yes, we can! Just remember that, depending upon the size of your van, storage space is limited and so is your ability to use a toilet in a van. You may want to consider using a cassette toilet, but they are mostly for emergency use. We also offer to install composting or dry flush toilets in vans that are large enough to accommodate them. There are pros and cons to any toilet situation. Reach out and we’ll help guide you in the right direction.
